Memphis Grizzlies vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction: Draft Lottery Implications In Brooklyn

Updated March 25, 2026
The Memphis Grizzlies travel to Brooklyn on March 9 for a meeting between two teams trying to get through difficult seasons. Memphis enters the night at 23-39 and sits outside the Western Conference play-in picture, while Brooklyn owns one of the league’s weakest records at 16-47. The NBA Draft Lottery will be an important talking point in this Grizzlies vs Nets matchup, as this game could help shape the probabilities for the draft position of several teams.
Pick: Grizzlies -1 ATS PRO
Confidence: 1 out of 5
The biggest storyline entering this game is availability. Memphis has been short-handed for weeks, including the extended absence of star guard Ja Morant due to an elbow injury. The Grizzlies have been forced to rely on role players and young contributors to generate offense, which has led to subpar results. Brooklyn is expected to rest Michael Porter Jr. for this game, which is a master class in tanking, and will greatly impact their offense.
Brooklyn, meanwhile, finally snapped a 10-game losing streak over the weekend with a dramatic comeback win over the Detroit Pistons on the road. That shocking victory provided a boost for a team that has struggled to stay competitive against stronger opponents. It will be interesting to see how they perform on the heels of that game.
Another huge storyline going into this game is draft positioning. According to Tankathon, the Nets are currently in a position to maximize their odds of getting a top-four pick in the 2026 draft. But if the Nets string together some wins, that could change, while Memphis losing some upcoming games could pull them closer to that bottom-four threshold.

Score Projection: Grizzlies 116 – Nets 109 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Grizzlies 62%, Nets 38% ATS PRO
This game features two teams far from playoff contention, yet the matchup still presents value from a betting standpoint. Memphis has dealt with significant injuries, but the roster continues to compete and has advantages in rebounding, ball movement, and overall offensive production. Brooklyn’s offense depends heavily on Michael Porter Jr., and he is being rested here. Therefore, I'll put some cautious optimism behind the Grizzlies to win on the road and cover the number.
