Friday night’s NBA slate will begin with a matchup between the Chicago Bulls (9-14) and Charlotte Hornets (7-17) at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. Both franchises have dealt with their share of struggles this season, and Friday’s game is an opportunity for a reset of sorts. Chicago enters on a seven-game losing streak, unable to find consistency on either end of the floor, while Charlotte has lost three of four. Before this contest tips off from Charlotte, continue reading to get my Bulls vs Hornets prediction.
Chicago’s slide has been a sight to behold. The Bulls have been outscored in seven straight and were recently thrashed 123-91 at home by Golden State, their lowest point output of the season. Scoring consistency has been hard to come by, leaving head coach Billy Donovan searching for answers on rotations and for the team's shot creation. Josh Giddey has emerged as Chicago’s primary playmaker, averaging over 20 points while averaging close to a triple-double. But Giddey needs help if the Bulls are going to win more games and get back to the winning ways we saw early in the season.
Charlotte has had its own series of setbacks. The Hornets were throttled by Denver 115-106 in their last outing, and multiple rotation players, including LaMelo Ball, Collin Sexton, Tre Mann and Grant Williams, are unavailable or questionable. That places added responsibility on Miles Bridges to shoulder the offensive load. Brandon Miller has returned from injury but is managing his workload to avoid getting re-injured. The Hornets’ defense has been exploited at times, giving up over 118 points per game and that needs to be patched up if Charlotte is going to get a win here.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Josh Giddey | Over 20.5 Points |
Miles Bridges | Over 22.5 Points |
Kon Knueppel | Under 3.5 3PT Made |
Score Projection: Chicago Bulls 117 – Charlotte Hornets 119
Win Probability: Bulls 47%, Hornets 53%
The Bulls are slight favorites on the road here, but I'm going to go the other way in this contest. The Bulls have dropped seven straight games and they have been dreadful on the road especially. The Hornets have at least been competitive at home and I'll go with them to cover the number as an underdog, and to potentially win this game outright.
