Key Storylines
- Charlotte has a losing record this season, but they have won eight straight games going into Saturday night. Atlanta has won two games in a row and is now within a game of getting back to the .500 mark for the season. But only one winning streak is going to survive into Sunday as these division opponents face off.
- Injuries and availability: For Charlotte, Coby White remains out with a calf issue, and Tidjane Salaun is questionable due to illness. For Atlanta, Onyeka Okongwu is questionable, while depth pieces Gabe Vincent, Buddy Hield, and Jonathan Kuminga are listed as out or questionable as they get acclimated to life with their new team.
- Primary engines: Jalen Johnson headlines Atlanta at 23.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game, fueling the Atlanta attack in multiple ways. Charlotte leans on Brandon Miller’s 20.4 points per game, while Kon Knueppel continues to spread the floor and bury important threes during his rookie season.
- Scoring profiles: Team numbers point to a slight efficiency advantage for Atlanta on effective field goal rate and assists, while Charlotte grades well at the stripe and on the glass, including a top-10 total rebounds number and 3-point accuracy near 37%.

Final Thoughts
This game is set to be about a toss-up, with both teams playing some improved basketball and looking like they want to see some postseason basketball. I'm going to take the Hawks to win this game on their home floor against a Hornets team that has a losing record on the road, but this contest could truly go in either direction in the ATL on Saturday night.
