Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction: Sixers Look to Win Game 6, Force Game 7

Game 6 between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers is set for Thursday night and should be an interesting one after a dramatic swing in this series in Game 5. Boston had a chance to close out the series at home, but collapsed late, allowing Philadelphia to extend the series and return home with renewed belief. The Celtics still hold a 3-2 edge, yet the tone has shifted after Joel Embiid delivered a dominant showing with 33 points and 8 assists in the last game, while Boston’s offense stalled badly in the fourth quarter. Before tip-off from Philly on Thursday, continue reading to get my Celtics vs 76ers Game 6 prediction.
The Boston Celtics enter this contest as a road favorite of around 5.5 points despite dropping Game 5 at home. That reflects their overall body of work this season, where the Celtics posted a 56-26 record and consistently ranked among the league’s top teams in efficiency. Still, the three-point shooting volatility for the Celtics always makes it so that they can be upset on any given night.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, has found life behind Embiid’s return to form. After dealing with health concerns earlier in the series, he has become the focal point again, creating scoring opportunities for himself and teammates. Tyrese Maxey’s pace and scoring have also been a factor in this series, giving the 76ers enough offensive balance to compete with the favorites in the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia 76ers
Boston Celtics
Boston remains the more reliable team over the entire season, despite what happened last time out. The Game 5 collapse is concerning, yet it also creates value, as it is unlikely Boston repeats such poor late-game shooting. Their defense and rebounding edge should travel well, and they still hold advantages in depth and consistency. My projection leans toward Boston closing out the series with a road win and backing the Celtics to cover the spread after a poor showing is a logical angle for bettors to take here.
