The Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic will meet Wednesday night in a game that carries significant weight in the Eastern Conference standings, with both teams pushing for playoff positioning. Atlanta enters in strong form, riding a winning streak and looking to complete a regular-season sweep of Orlando. Before tip-off from Kia Center, you will find my Hawks vs Magic prediction right here.
Atlanta comes into this game as one of the hottest teams in the league, having won two straight contests and four of their last five games. The Hawks have been clicking offensively, moving the ball at an elite level and generating efficient looks both inside and from beyond the arc.
Orlando, meanwhile, has also been in strong form with two wins in their last three games, including a high-scoring victory over Phoenix last night. The Magic have been particularly tough at home with a 23-14 record, and their defense has quietly improved, allowing just 115.1 points per game on the season.
One key factor is recent head-to-head history. Atlanta has dominated this matchup lately, winning all three meetings this season, including a 124-112 victory in mid-March. That psychological edge could play a role, especially with playoff positioning on the line. The Hawks are currently in the top six in the East, while the Magic enter today in play-in tournament position.
Orlando Magic
Atlanta Hawks
Stat | Hawks | Magic |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 118.2 | 115.3 |
Points allowed per game | 116.2 | 115.1 |
Team Field Goal % | 47% | 46% |
Rebounds per game | 43.4 | 43.2 |
Assists per game | 30.3 | 26.3 |
Atlanta enters this game in better overall form, and its recent offensive output stands out. The Hawks are playing with confidence, sharing the ball effectively, and shooting efficiently. Their ability to generate assists at the highest rate in the league gives them a consistent edge, especially against a Magic team that relies more heavily on isolation scoring from Banchero.
The Magic are also at a rest disadvantage going into this matchup, playing on the second leg of a back-to-back after beating the Suns last night. I think that will hurt the Magic and the Hawks will get a third straight win in a huge win for their hopes of skipping the play-in tournament.
