The Atlanta Hawks head to Detroit on Wednesday night on one of the hottest streaks in the NBA, but they run into a Pistons team that has been dominant at home and sits near the top of the Eastern Conference. With both teams scoring at a high level and playoff positioning on the line, this Hawks vs Pistons game could be one of the most competitive on the NBA schedule on Wednesday night.
Atlanta enters this game in excellent form, having won 13 of its last 14 contests and recently putting up 146 points in a blowout win over the Memphis Grizzlies. The offense has been efficient and balanced, with multiple players stepping up even when key contributors have been limited. That surge has pushed the Hawks firmly into the playoff picture, even ater trading away Trae Young.
Detroit, meanwhile, has been one of the most consistent teams in the Eastern Conference all season. The Pistons hold a strong home record and rank among the better defensive units, allowing just 109.5 points per game. They have already beaten Atlanta in prior meetings this season and are aiming for a season sweep with a win here.
Detroit Pistons
Atlanta Hawks
Stat | Hawks | Pistons |
|---|---|---|

Points allowed per game | 116.4 | 109.5 |
Team Field Goal % | 47% | 48% |
Rebounds per game | 43.4 | 45.7 |

Cunningham being out is a problem for the Pistons, but I'm not sure it's a big enough problem to go against them here. Detroit is 27-8 at home this season and they should keep rolling on their home floor in this matchup, as I will lay the points with the Pistons in this great measuring stick game in the Eastern Conference.
