The Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies will face off in an interleague matchup on Saturday. After a 3–1 victory on Friday behind a dominant outing from Aaron Nola, Philadelphia will look to grab another win over a Twins squad that is already eliminated from playoff contention. The Phillies are home favorites as they look to build momentum ahead of the upcoming postseason. Below, you will find my analysis for this game, including my Twins vs Phillies prediction.
The Phillies will hand the ball to Ranger Suárez, who has delivered a solid 2025 campaign overall. He enters this start with a 12-7 record, a 3.12 ERA, 147 strikeouts, and a 1.20 WHIP. He has also been better at home, where he has a strong record.
Opposing Suarez is Mick Abel of the Twins, who has had a difficult major league season. His MLB stats show he has been used sparingly, and his 7.36 ERA reflects his struggles to consistently retire big league hitters.
Player | Prop Type | Pick |
|---|---|---|
Kyle Schwarber | Home Runs | Over 0.5 |
Ranger Suárez | Strikeouts | Over 5.5 |
Byron Buxton | Total Bases | Under 1.5 |
Score Projection: Minnesota 2 – Philadelphia 5
Win Probability: Minnesota 27%, Philadelphia 73%
The Phillies enter this game with all the momentum and matchup advantages. Ranger Suárez’s consistency, combined with a lineup that can punish weak pitching, gives Philadelphia the upper hand. Minnesota’s Mick Abel has lacked sustained success at the major league level and I don't think he is going to find that success here. Expect the Phillies to control this game and cover the runline as they look to keep the pressure on the Milwaukee Brewers in the race for the best record in baseball.
