The 2026 season reflects how modern cricket has evolved:
This means cricket in 2026 feels more familiar than ever — frequent games, playoff-style tournaments, star-driven leagues, and consistent streaming availability.
February – March | India & Sri Lanka
The Men’s T20 World Cup is the flagship event of the year. Featuring 20 teams and matches across two countries, it’s designed for global appeal: short games, explosive scoring, and clear tournament progression.
For American sports fans, this is the easiest international cricket tournament to follow — often compared to a global March Madness-style spectacle.
June – July | England
Women’s cricket continues its rapid rise, and the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup is a key milestone. Hosted in England during the northern summer, the event is expected to draw record viewership and highlights the increasing depth and competitiveness of the women’s game.
January – February | Zimbabwe & Namibia
Often an early look at future international stars, the U-19 World Cup remains one of cricket’s most important development tournaments.
March – May | India
The IPL is the most powerful league in global cricket. Featuring ten franchises and the world’s best players, it regularly attracts comparisons to the NBA in terms of star power, media reach, and financial influence.
In 2026, the IPL follows directly after the Men’s T20 World Cup, extending several months of elite T20 cricket — a major storyline in terms of player workload and international scheduling.
Morning and early-afternoon US time slots make IPL games especially accessible for viewers in North America.
February – March
The PSL takes place alongside the Men’s T20 World Cup window and features many of the same global T20 specialists. Its timing makes it a key lead-in event for fans wanting nonstop action early in the year.
December 2025 – January 2026
Australia’s premier T20 league anchors the calendar at the start of the year. Primarily a nighttime event in Australia, BBL matches stream overnight in the US and serve as an entry point into the 2026 season.
July – August | England
With its 100-ball format, The Hundred is built for casual viewers and short attention spans. Its simplified structure makes it particularly friendly for US fans new to cricket.
August – September
The CPL closes out the league season with entertaining, high-scoring cricket and one major advantage for US audiences: favorable time zones, with many matches airing live in the evening.
