As the 2025 Mid-American Conference season winds down, the Western Michigan Broncos (7–4) visit the Eastern Michigan Eagles (4–7) on Tuesday night in an in-state rivalry game. Western Michigan is a win away from locking up a spot in the MAC championship game and they will look to get that win in this rivalry matchup from Ypsilanti. Before kickoff from Michigan, you can find my Western Michigan vs Eastern Michigan prediction below.

This in-state rivalry game brings energy every season, and this year is no different. Western Michigan enters with a stronger overall season under their belt, leaning heavily on a ground-focused offense that has powered its rise during conference play. The Broncos are 6-1 in the MAC and have won three games in a row. A win here would guarantee them a spot in the conference title game, while they could still make it to Detroit with a loss.
Eastern Michigan will play its final home game of the season here and will look to rally behind a fanbase eager for one last positive moment in a season that has been disappointing. The Eagles have won two games in a row coming into this matchup, though, and they will try to upset their in-state rivals to ruin their chances of making it to the conference championship game.
The difference in this contest may come down to physicality. Western Michigan excels at controlling possession through its rushing attack, while Eastern Michigan has struggled to contain opponents who are good on the ground. The Eagles can compensate through their passing game, but they must avoid long-yardage situations that make them predictable on offense.
Western Michigan’s Broc Lowry remains the primary option at quarterback. He has thrown for 1,472 yards with 7 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He has also rushed for 783 rushing yards with 12 touchdowns on the ground. He will try to make the difference in this game both through the air and on the ground.
Eastern Michigan will rely on quarterback Noah Kim, who has shown the ability to attack vertically when protected properly. While his production surpasses Lowry’s through the air, inconsistency has undermined the Eagles at key moments.
Western Michigan should win this game against Eastern Michigan to make it to the MAC title game. But I do think that this is going to be a tight game in Ypsilanti. I'll take the points with Eastern Michigan in this rivalry game in the MAC on Tuesday night.
