As the college football regular season winds down, the UConn Huskies (8‑3) travel to Boca Raton to take on the Florida Atlantic Owls (4‑6) on Saturday. UConn is aiming to notch its first-ever back-to-back nine-win seasons, while FAU is looking to win at home to keep its slim hopes of making a bowl game alive. Here, I break down this matchup and give you my UConn vs Florida Atlantic prediction for Saturday.

For UConn, closing the regular season with a win would provide historic validation. They could become the first squad in program history to post back-to-back nine-win seasons, and they’d build momentum heading into a bowl game. The Huskies are playing well of late, having won three games in a row coming into this contest from Boca.
FAU is 4-6 on the season so far and they are a loss away from bowl season. Their aerial attack is one of the most potent in the country, and they will lean heavily on that to keep the ball away from a UConn offense that moves the ball efficiently. FAU has dropped three of its last four games and will try to stop the bleeding here with its season on the line.
UConn’s Joe Fagnano has turned in an excellent season at quarterback. He’s thrown for 2,995 yards, 25 touchdowns, and only 1 interception. FAU counters with Caden Veltkamp, who has thrown for 2,971 yards, 22 touchdowns and 14 picks. He’ll need to avoid turning the ball over for FAU to have a shot in this game, something he has struggled with throughout the year.
UConn enters this game playing some of the best football in the country of late. I expect the Huskies to find a way to move the ball through the air effectively throughout this game. I recommend laying the points with UConn here, as they should finish the regular season with 9 wins and end the bowl hopes of FAU for this season.
