SMU and Clemson met in the ACC Championship Game last season. They will meet again in Death Valley on Saturday afternoon. Clemson is favored at home in this contest but they will face a tough test from a Mustangs team with revenge on their minds after that conference title game. Before kickoff, you can find my SMU vs Clemson prediction below.
Odds | Line |
|---|---|
Spread | Clemson −5.5 |
Moneyline | Clemson −200 / SMU +170 |
Total | Over/Under 50.5 |
SMU’s quarterback is Kevin Jennings. He has thrown for 1,658 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He could be the best quarterback on the field in this game even if Klubnik is able to play. As long as he can withstand the pressure of Clemson's pass rush, he could lead his team to a win in this matchup.
Clemson’s quarterback situation is murky going into this game. If Klubnik is limited or forced to play through injury, the Tigers may lean heavier on their run game and become more predictable on offense. The health and mobility of Clemson’s QB is a huge factor in this game.
Score Projection: Clemson 27 – SMU 20
Win Probability: Clemson 78%, SMU 22%
I highly encourage bettors to wait until we find out whether or not Cade Klubnik will play before placing any bets on this game. But without that knowledge, I recommend betting on Clemson as a favorite, as the line could move in the Tigers' direction if he is announced as active for this contest.
