Louisiana Tech (4-1, 2-0 CUSA) will head into hostile territory to take on Kennesaw State (3-2, 1-0 CUSA) on Thursday night. Both teams are unbeaten in Conference USA competition early in the conference season and will try to keep it that way with a win here. Before kickoff from Kennesaw, continue reading to find my Louisiana Tech vs Kennesaw State prediction below.
Odds | Line |

Spread | Louisiana Tech –5.5 |
Moneyline | Louisiana Tech –215, Kennesaw State +180 |
Total | 45.5 |
Louisiana Tech enters this Conference USA matchup as a more complete team. The Bulldogs’ defense has forced turnovers and held opponents in check, while the offense has scored 30 or more points in three straight games. Kennesaw State has not looked all that convincing in recent games against Middle Tennessee and Arkansas State, though they won those contests.
Both teams have won three games in a row coming into this contest. The strength of schedule for both teams hasn't been all that impressive coming into this week. But both teams have done a nice job of taking care of business against the teams in front of them of late and will try to continue to do so here.
Blake Baker has thrown for 603 yards with three touchdowns and just one interception. He has given the Bulldogs a steady presence through the air, even if he hasn't been all that explosive in the vertical passing game.
Kennesaw State’s Amari Odom has played well so far this season. He is 58 of 81 passing for 754 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. His top receiver, Gabriel Benyard, has 363 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That duo will try to exploit the pass defense of Louisiana Tech to engineer an upset win at home.
Score Projection: Louisiana Tech 27 – Kennesaw State 14
Win Probability: Louisiana Tech 75%, Kennesaw State 25%
These teams have similar records going into this game. But those records don't tell the full story of these teams. Louisiana Tech has looked more complete on both sides of the ball and their defense has held all five of their opponents under 25 points, including the LSU Tigers. I will lay the points with Louisiana Tech here, as they should clamp down on the Owls' offense on the road en route to a third straight Conference USA win to begin conference play.
