The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will hit the road to take on the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon. Georgia Tech is undefeated at 6-0 and will try to stay unbeaten with a win here. But they are slight underdogs against the Blue Devils here and you can continue reading to get my Georgia Tech vs Duke prediction below.
Spread | Moneyline | Total (O/U) |
|---|---|---|
Duke –1.5 | Duke –120 / Georgia Tech +100 | 60.5 |
The big question going into this game is whether Georgia Tech can maintain its unbeaten run when traveling into a hostile environment and facing a Duke squad that has been improving in ACC play. The Yellow Jackets have leaned on one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in college football, while Duke appears determined to move the ball primarily through the air.
Turnovers and situational awareness will be huge factors in this game. Duke enters with a favorable turnover margin and any Georgia Tech mistakes could be huge in a close contest. Duke also has the benefit of utilizing an idle week to get ready for this important game for both sides.
Georgia Tech’s Haynes King has been effective this season, with 971 passing yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. In their most recent game, he went 20-of-24 for 213 yards and a touchdown while rushing 14 times for 60 yards and two rushing touchdowns. King has been one of the most valuable players in the country to his team's success.
Duke will rely on quarterback Darian Mensah, who leads the ACC in passing yards with 1,838. He has 15 touchdown passes and just two interceptions on the year. Mensah’s ability to attack Georgia Tech’s defense and connect downfield will be a key to the Blue Devils' success.
Score Projection: Georgia Tech 28 – Duke 27
Win Probability: Georgia Tech 54%, Duke 46%
This one is expected to be a tight game from start to finish. Georgia Tech’s offense is firing on all cylinders, especially on the ground. And while Duke's passing game has been one of the best in college football, I think that the Yellow Jackets will win a tight game on the road here. Duke is 3-0 in the ACC, but this is by far the toughest test they've faced and I think the Blue Devils will fail that test against the incredible Haynes King.
