Key Storylines
- Quarterback Play: Duke's Darian Mensah has been efficient, throwing for 268 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Syracuse in Duke's last game. He has already surpassed 1,500 passing yards with 13 touchdown passes and just two interceptions. Cal's freshman Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele has 1,242 passing yards and eight touchdowns on the season, showcasing mobility and versatility. Both of these quarterbacks are explosive and will try to help their teams put up points in bunches here.
- Defensive Matchup: Cal ranks second in the ACC in scoring defense, allowing just 18 points per game. Duke's offense averages 34.8 points per game and will test Cal's defensive prowess. Duke's defense has struggled this season, with the exception of their game last week against a Syracuse team that had an injured starting quarterback.
- ACC Undefeateds: Both of these teams have yet to lose a game in ACC play this year. Duke is 2-0 in conference play, with wins over NC State and Syracuse. Cal won its first ACC game of the season against Boston College. Both teams will try to stay unbeaten in ACC competition here.

Final Thoughts
This matchup features a high-powered Duke offense against a stout Cal defense. While Cal's defense has been impressive, Duke's offensive balance and efficiency give them the edge. The absence of key defensive players for Cal could further tilt the scales in Duke's favor. I expect a close game, but Duke's offensive firepower should prevail. I will lay the points with Duke in this ACC After Dark matchup from Berkeley.
