Boston College and Pitt are set to play in the ACC on Saturday afternoon at Acrisure Stadium. Boston College has struggled in the post-Thomas Castellanos era of the program, winning just one of their first four games. They face a Pitt team that is 2-2 and desperate to get above the .500 mark with a win. Here, I break down this ACC matchup from all angles and give you my Boston College vs Pitt prediction.
Odds | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
Pittsburgh | –6.5 | –230 | Over 57.5 |
Boston College | +6.5 | +195 | Under 57.5 |
Pitt’s Eli Holstein has major arm talent. He has 1,050 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. But he has also thrown five interceptions in four games. His deep passing ability is a weapon, but consistency and decision-making remain concerns coming into this matchup.
BC signal caller Dylan Lonergan is averaging 40 pass attempts per game so far this season. He has nine touchdown passes and three interceptions, but will be looking for the running game to carry more of the offensive burden for his team to set him up for more success.
Score Projection: Pittsburgh 31 – Boston College 23
Win Probability: Pittsburgh 70%, Boston College 30%
Both teams are struggling heading into this matchup. But I think that the Pitt Panthers are the team best equipped to overcome those struggles this week. The Panthers have a more dangerous passing attack and Narduzzi's defense should take advantage of the one-dimensional nature of BC's offense given how often they throw the ball. I'll take the Panthers to cover the spread at home in this battle of struggling ACC opponents.
