This Sunday’s Big East matchup features the Seton Hall Pirates visiting the Butler Bulldogs on February 15. Both clubs have experienced different fortunes this season, with Seton Hall sitting at 17-8 overall and 7-7 in conference play while Butler checks in at 13-12 and 4-10 in the league. The Pirates are attempting to firm up their NCAA Tournament hopes, while the Bulldogs look to claw out of a difficult stretch that has seen them drop five straight games. Before this contest begins in the Big East, you will find my Seton Hall vs Butler prediction below.
Pick: Seton Hall -2.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: 3/5
Stat | Seton Hall | Butler |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 72.0 | 80.7 |
Points allowed per game | 65.2 | 77.4 |
Team Field Goal % | 44% | 46% |
Rebounds Per Game | 36.0 | 38.2 |
Assists Per Game | 13.2 | 15.7 |
The statistical landscape shows Butler with a scoring edge and slightly better shooting numbers, but Seton Hall’s defense gives up significantly fewer points and is among the stronger units nationally. The Pirates’ ability to limit opponents could be decisive, especially if the pace stays controlled. Butler’s offensive strengths will need to overcome Seton Hall’s defensive discipline for the Bulldogs to stay competitive.
Score Projection: Seton Hall 75 – Butler 72 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Seton Hall 57%, Butler 43% ATS PRO
This Big East encounter should be a tense, tactical game with Seton Hall’s defense making the difference. Butler’s offense can produce points, but the Bulldogs have struggled in recent outings. With Seton Hall’s improved offensive play and ability to control tempo, the Pirates are my pick to grab a close win in Indianapolis and cover the spread against a home team that will drop their sixth game in a row here.
