Pick: Saint Louis Billikens -18.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: 3/5
Saint Louis has been among the most dominant teams in mid-major college basketball this season. The Billikens boast a 23-1 overall record and have yet to lose in Atlantic 10 play, guided by a balanced offensive approach where multiple players can score in double figures. In their most recent outing, they rolled to an 82-58 victory over La Salle behind 15 points from Ishan Sharma and solid supporting scoring from Quentin Jones, Amari McCottry, and Dion Brown. Saint Louis is also ranking high in both offensive efficiency and scoring margin, making them elite in many statistical categories for this grouping of teams.
Loyola Chicago has struggled mightily throughout the season. The Ramblers have lost 19 games and have faced prolonged slumps, including an 0-9 stretch in January. While they did notch a win over La Salle earlier in February, their inconsistency on both ends of the floor has been apparent. Leading scorers like Justin Moore and Miles Rubin have at times provided bright spots, but overall production has been sporadic, and defensive issues have plagued this squad. Injuries have also impacted Loyola Chicago’s ability to maintain rotations. The result is a team that enters Friday significantly overmatched against a surging Saint Louis team.
Looking back at recent meetings between these programs, the series has seen split results. Last year on February 14, Loyola Chicago earned a 78-69 victory over Saint Louis at Gentile Arena, paced by Jayden Dawson’s strong performance. But in their other encounters last season, including a 98-67 Saint Louis victory and a 72-64 Ramblers win in the Atlantic 10 tournament quarterfinals, this rivalry has produced mixed results.
Score Projection: Saint Louis 88 – Loyola Chicago 63 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Saint Louis 90%, Loyola Chicago 10% ATS PRO
Everything points toward a decisive Saint Louis victory on Friday night. The Billikens’ high-octane offense, depth, and strong defense contrast sharply with a rebuilding and inconsistent Loyola Chicago squad that has struggled to produce consistent results this season. Backing Saint Louis to cover a large spread is supported by recent form, head-to-head history, and the gap in talent and execution. Expect the Billikens to control the tempo early, build a sizable lead, and cruise to a comfortable road win in Chicago.
