Key Storylines
- Kentucky enters this contest on a four-game winning streak, including a gritty 85-80 win over Texas this past week that kept their momentum going in SEC play. Their overall record stands at 13-6 with a 4-2 mark in the conference. Kentucky has posted a 10-2 home record this season, with Rupp Arena being a tough place for visitors. However, the Wildcats are contending with key absences as Jayden Quaintance, Kam Williams, and Jaland Lowe are all sidelined, thinning Mark Pope’s rotation and forcing younger players into larger roles than originally planned.
- The Rebels have an 11-8 overall record and a 3-3 mark in SEC action. Ole Miss’ offense has shown the capacity to put points on the board, averaging 75.5 points per contest, but their defensive lapses and vulnerability on the boards have led to inconsistent results. The Rebels are coming off a home defeat to Auburn, where shooting woes and foul trouble compounded their defensive concerns. Ole Miss is 2-2 on the road this year and will have an uphill battle to get above .500 on the road with a win here.
- The weather in Lexington has shifted this game’s tip to an earlier 11:00 AM start, which could wreak havoc on the preparation for both of these teams. Getting off to a fast start will be huge for both squads as they do battle in a game that starts before noon.

Final Thoughts
Kentucky should have a decided edge in this matchup at Rupp Arena. Ole Miss hasn't proven much of anything on the road yet this season and the Rebels lack the high-end offensive firepower to keep up with Kentucky reliably. I'll lay the points with the Wildcats here, as they should get a fifth straight win in SEC play and keep the pressure on the teams ahead of them in the standings.
