The Ohio State Buckeyes will go west to take on the Oregon Ducks in a game between two football schools on the basketball court. Ohio State enters this game with a 10-4 overall record and will be eager to rebound after a loss to Nebraska in their last outing. Oregon enters Thursday night at 8-7 and hoping to bounce back from a loss to Rutgers in their last outing. Here, I break down this matchup in college basketball and bring you my Ohio State vs Oregon prediction.

Ohio State arrives in Eugene after an intense encounter with Nebraska that ended in a three-point loss. Guard John Mobley Jr. led Ohio State with 22 points and has been a consistent scoring threat, especially from beyond the arc. Bruce Thornton continues to be a leader for the Buckeyes, contributing on offense in several ways. Ohio State’s offense is strong, averaging over 84 points per game and shooting a healthy 51% from the field. One key negative is the absence of Brandon Noel, who suffered a foot injury and will miss some time, creating a potential rebounding issue for Ohio State.
Early-season inconsistency has been a huge factor in the Oregon Ducks’ 8-7 record this season. They are trying to find rhythm in league play, going 1-3 in the Big Ten before this game. Oregon’s offense features big man Nate Bittle, who averages 17 points per game and provides size and scoring at multiple levels. Oregon’s ability to make three-pointers and crash the offensive boards has been important for them, but they must string together quality possessions to challenge Ohio State effectively.
Score Projection: Ohio State 80 – Oregon 78
Win Probability: Ohio State 52%, Oregon 48%
This should be another tight game in the Big Ten for both of these teams after both of them lost one-possession games in their last outings. Here, I think Ohio State has a slight edge in spite of their injury concerns. Oregon's offense pales in comparison to that of the Buckeyes. I expect Ohio State to bounce back from their loss to an undefeated team in their last game and for the Buckeyes to get back above the .500 mark in Big Ten play.
