Key Players
Oakland Golden Grizzlies
- Brody Robinson – Leading Oakland offensively this season with around 17.0 points per game and nearly 6.8 assists, Robinson is the primary scoring and playmaking option. His ability to distribute and score will be vital in breaking down NKU’s defensive schemes.
- Tuburu Niavalurua – Averaging around 15.4 points and grabbing roughly 6.1 rebounds over recent games, Niavalurua provides balanced production on both ends and should be looked to for key scoring spurts.
Northern Kentucky Norse
- Donovan Oday – Northern Kentucky’s leading scorer at approximately 18.7 points per contest, Oday’s scoring and defensive contributions are central to the Norse keeping pace in higher-scoring affairs.
- Dan Gherezgher Jr. – A dynamic scorer and capable ball-handler, Gherezgher’s three-point shooting stretches defenses and is critical for NKU’s spacing.
- LJ Wells – With around 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds, Wells offers strength on the boards and a consistent interior presence that helps balance out the perimeter focus.

Final Thoughts
This Horizon League Tournament opener is likely to be a tightly contested battle, yet Oakland’s home court advantage, slight statistical edge in efficiency, and comfort in recent head-to-head encounters give them the edge in my projections. I will lay the points with the Golden Grizzlies, who should survive and advance to the next round in the Horizon League tourney.
