Key Storylines
- West Georgia enters this game with a slightly better record at 14-16 overall and 8-10 in ASUN play, positioning them as the favorite in this conference tournament opener.
- North Florida has struggled this season, holding a 7-24 record, but earned a win over West Georgia less than a month ago, which provides confidence entering this game.
- UNF is the lower-seeded team here, but they are playing on their home floor in the "neutral-site" ASUN tournament. The question will be whether or not that matters and they can bring enough support to tilt the game in their favor.
Key Players
North Florida
- Kamrin Oriol – The Ospreys’ workhorse scorer, averaging close to 20.7 points per game and leading the team in scoring by a significant margin, Oriol is the central offensive focal point. His ability to generate his own shot and attack the rim will be key in keeping the Ospreys competitive.
- Kent Jackson – Jackson adds scoring help and has shown the ability to heat up, providing a secondary scoring option to help relieve pressure from Oriol.
- Mason Lee – Contributing in rebounds and effective shooting, Lee’s presence on the interior and ability to clean the glass helps the Ospreys stay competitive on both ends.
West Georgia
- Shelton Williams-Dryden – The Wolves’ leading scorer and rebounder, Williams-Dryden carries most of the offensive load. His ability to score inside and out and control the boards makes him the team’s most influential player.
- Malcolm Noel – As a secondary playmaker and scoring option, Noel’s facilitation and scoring provide balance for West Georgia’s offense.
- Kolten Griffin – Bringing defense and secondary scoring into the lineup, Griffin’s contributions are important in containing opposing attackers and providing complementary scoring.

Final Thoughts
This Atlantic Sun Tournament opener is an intriguing clash between a struggling North Florida side and a West Georgia team that has shown better performance recently. The Wolves’ better scoring balance and more stout defense give them a slight edge in a tight game. Considering recent trends, I recommend betting West Georgia to cover the number, especially if Williams-Dryden can control the paint.
