The Loyola Chicago Ramblers (6-18) travel to face the Davidson Wildcats (13-9) on Friday in what should be an interesting Atlantic 10 Conference battle. Loyola Chicago is fighting through a tough season, but they are coming off a rare triumph against La Salle that could help build some confidence. Davidson is at .500 in the A10 and will try to get an important win on their home floor. Here, I break down this contest and give you my Loyola Chicago vs Davidson prediction.

Key Storylines
- Loyola Chicago has struggled mightily this season, sitting at 6-18 overall and 2-9 in Atlantic 10 play. They arrive with just one road win and significant shortcomings on both ends of the court. Loyola’s latest victory over La Salle (71-61) showed some offensive promise, but inconsistency has been the headline for much of the year. Their offense averages around 67.7 points per game on 42% shooting while allowing more than 77 points per outing. Davidson’s defense ranks more respectably and should challenge a Ramblers lineup that has issues creating high-quality looks on offense.
- The Wildcats have endured ups and downs, including a recent 91-82 loss to Saint Louis, where they surrendered a double-digit second-half run to the Billikens. Davidson’s overall record is 13-9 with a 5-5 mark in Atlantic 10 games, and they’re average at home with a 7-6 mark. Their offensive output of just over 72 points per game on 46% shooting provides an edge when they find rhythm, but it is always a question as to whether or not they will do so.
- Davidson is in a tie for sixth place in the A10 standings so far this season, while Loyola Chicago is dead last. The Ramblers are a desperate team, while Davidson has a great opportunity to improve its place in the league hierarchy with a win here.

Final Thoughts
Davidson should be able to win this game on their home floor. But I am going to take the points with the Loyola Chicago Ramblers in this game. Loyola Chicago finally found a spark last time out, albeit against La Salle. I think the Ramblers will keep this game respectable, though Davidson should get to 6-5 in conference play with a win.
