The Conference USA championship game features two programs that earned their way into the title game with strong semifinal victories. Kennesaw State enters the game with a 20-13 record after defeating Sam Houston 79-73 in the semifinals, while Louisiana Tech sits at 20-13 following a tight 69-66 win over Missouri State. The winner secures the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, making this Kennesaw State vs Louisiana Tech matchup the most important game of the season for both teams.
Kennesaw State has shown the ability to score in bunches throughout the season. The Owls average more than 83 points per game and rank among the better rebounding teams in CUSA, grabbing over 40 rebounds per contest. Their style is aggressive and fast-paced, built around spacing the floor and generating three-point looks.
Louisiana Tech, by contrast, wins with defense and controlling the tempo. The Bulldogs allow fewer than 65 points per game, placing them among the top defensive units in the nation. They slow games down and emphasize efficient half-court possessions, which has helped them maintain a positive scoring margin despite a modest offensive output.
Another storyline is how each team reached the final. Kennesaw State knocked off higher-seeded Sam Houston in the semifinals after eliminating Western Kentucky earlier in the tournament. Louisiana Tech also beat a strong Missouri State squad to reach the championship game. Both teams have been battle-tested during the week, which adds another layer of intrigue heading into Saturday night.

This championship game pits the most explosive offense in the conference against one of its most disciplined defenses. Louisiana Tech’s ability to slow tempo could make scoring difficult early, but Kennesaw State’s rebounding advantage and perimeter shooting provide a path to victory. I'm going to lay the 1.5 points with the Owls here, as they should claim the Conference USA automatic bid into March Madness.
