Key Storylines
- Form guide: Florida has won 4 of its last 5, including a 100-77 over Alabama and 86-67 at Texas A&M. Georgia just snapped a 3-game slide with an 83-71 road win at LSU in their last game. Georgia comes into this game with a 5-5 conference record and they desperately need a win here at home.
- First meeting recap: Florida beat Georgia 92-77 on January 6 behind a 56-35 rebounding edge and 58 points in the paint.
- Headliners: Florida’s Thomas Haugh averages 17.8 PPG. Center Rueben Chinyelu leads the Gators with 11.5 RPG and is a big reason for Florida's consistent edge on the glass. Georgia’s Jeremiah Wilkinson averages 17.1 PPG, while center Somto Cyril anchors the paint with 2.7 BPG.
- Tempo and scoring: Florida scores 86.3 PPG and allows 71.2 PPG. Georgia scores 91.9 PPG and allows 77.3. Expect pace, but second-chance points for the Gators could help them to crack an inferior Georgia defense.
- Both of these teams are 17-6 overall this season, but they have had very different showings in conference play. The Gators are 8-2 in league play, while Georgia is just 5-5 in the SEC. That explains the Gators being close to a double-digit favorite despite being on the road against a team with an identical overall record.

Final Thoughts
This shapes up as a game decided on the glass. Florida’s elite offensive rebounding, physical interior scoring and late-game half-court execution travel well, and they already proved it can all work against Georgia back in January. Georgia’s best avenue is a swarming start that turns live-ball turnovers into runouts while Cyril patrols the rim without fouling. But the Bulldogs have struggled to finish defensive possessions against top-25 frontcourts. I'm going to lay the points with the Gators in this rematch in the conference where It Just Means More.
