Army (5-7) has bounced back from a challenging early start to their season by winning four of its last five games. They most recently earned a victory over UMBC by three points on the road. Offensively, Army produces 72.6 points per game and is solid on the perimeter, averaging over 10 made three-pointers per contest. A solid shooting game will give Army a clear advantage over the struggling Binghamton defense. Guard Ryan Curry leads the Black Knights with 12.8 points per game and 4.8 assists per game.
The Binghamton Bearcats (3-10) have endured a difficult road campaign, entering this contest 0-6 away from home. Binghamton’s offense averages 65.0 points per game, and its shooting from deep has been struggling at 28.7% from three-point range. Demetrius Lilley leads the team with 14.6 points per game and pulls down 9.4 rebounds per contest, giving the Bearcats a presence inside. Jeremiah Quigley posted a 24-point effort in Binghamton’s recent loss to Mercyhurst, showcasing that he can take over offensively when given space.
Binghamton has struggled to score consistently and will need a major offensive lift to keep pace in this one. The Bearcats have dropped four straight games, all by 15 points or more, and that won't change if Binghamton can't find some scoring.
Score Projection: Army 78 – Binghamton 66
Win Probability: Army 67%, Binghamton 33%
Binghamton ranks 363rd out of 365 Division I men's college basketball teams in overall ratings according to KenPom. The Bearcats have struggled against both good and bad teams early in the year and their losing streak should continue in this game. I'm going to lay the points with Army, who should use their advantage on the glass in terms of team rebounding numbers to get a third win in a row.
