Lynx vs Mystics Betting Pick
This game will be played at Entertainment & Sports Arena at 3:00 PM ET on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
The Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics both have the ability to score at all levels against opposing defenses. In this game, they will need to do just that as both teams gear up for what should be a battle in Washington D.C. In our WNBA picks for Sunday afternoon, we look at Lynx vs Mystics, as the Mystics look to boost their playoff positioning and the Lynx look to move closer to the top-eight.
Why Bet The Mystics:
✅ The Mystics are 2-0 against the Lynx already this season, winning convincingly in both of those contests. Sylvia Fowles was out of one of those games for Minnesota, but the Mystics did not have Elena Delle Donne for either game. With Delle Donne expected to play here, the Mystics should be able to improve to 3-0 against the Lynx.
✅ Washington is on a three-game home winning streak, winning each of those contests by at least eight points. The Mystics just completed a four-game road trip, which ended with a loss in Phoenix against the Mercury. Back at home, the Mystics will look more like the championship contenders they are.

✅ On the flip side, the Lynx have played six of their last seven games at home. Their lone road game over that span came against the Indiana Fever, who have established themselves as the worst team in the WNBA by far. In their first challenging road game in weeks, the Lynx are going to struggle more than we are used to seeing of late.
Minnesota Lynx
The Minnesota Lynx have shown some fight early in the second half of the WNBA season. Despite being outside of the eight playoff spots in the league, they have won four of their last five games. Here, they look to pass their first real road test since they beat the Phoenix Mercury on the road in late June when they face the Mystics.
This will be the first time this season that the Lynx have to deal with Elena Delle Donne when facing Washington. Minnesota is 0-2 against Washington already this season with Delle Donne missing both of those previous matchups. With one of the best pure scorers in the league back for the Mystics, things could be even worse for the Lynx in this one.
Washington Mystics
Coming into Sunday, the Washington Mystics sit comfortably in fifth place in the WNBA standings. They will need to make up a couple of games if they want to get into the top-four over teams like the Sun and Storm. Taking advantage of home games like this one could help them on the path to doing just that, which could help them score home court advantage early in the playoffs.
Shakira Austin has really embraced the challenge of facing Sylvia Fowles and the Lynx in her rookie season. Austin has averaged 9.5 points and 11.5 rebounds against the Lynx in their two previous meetings this season. If she can avoid foul trouble and continue to compete on the glass against Fowles, the Mystics could cruise in this game.
