Despite struggling early in the WNBA season, the Minnesota Lynx are just a half-game out of a playoff spot. On Wednesday night, they take on a Seattle Storm team that has already clinched a spot, and is now playing for seeding. In our WNBA picks, we take a look at Lynx vs Storm in a game that is meaningful to both sides.
Why Bet The Lynx:
✅ The Minnesota is much better than their place in the standings shows. They have won two straight games, and have wins over teams like the Aces and Sky already this season. They nearly beat the Storm in their second meeting this season, and will keep this contest competitive as well thanks to the form of Aerial Powers and Kayla McBride.
✅ Rebounding will be a huge advantage for the Lynx in this game. They average the most rebounds in the WNBA this season at 37.5 boards per game. Seattle ranks 10th in rebounding, averaging 33.2 rebounds per game. Keep in mind that Minnesota’s numbers would be better if Sylvia Fowles did not miss so much of this season. Expect the Lynx to use their rebounding edge to make this a tight game throughout.

✅ From a rest and travel standpoint, the Lynx have a slight advantage here. The Storm had to play a back to back on Saturday and Sunday, and had to travel back from the East coast before this game. Minnesota only played on Sunday, and went from Los Angeles to Seattle for this matchup. That slight convenience and rest edge for the Lynx could come into play down the stretch here.
Minnesota Lynx
The Minnesota Lynx are in 11th place in the 12-team WNBA. But they are just a half-game out of a playoff spot as the regular season hits the home stretch. Here, the Lynx will look to utilize their advantage on the interior to make things difficult on the superior Storm. That will mean a steady diet of Sylvia Fowles to test the frontcourt of Seattle.
Seattle has one of the top shot blockers in the league in Ezi Magbegor. But Fowles is a much more physical player than Magbegor, who uses her quickness and length to disrupt opponents. Fowles should be able to secure deep positioning against Magbegor, Tina Charles, and whoever else the Storm throw at her.
Seattle Storm
Seattle split a two-game back to back against the Washington Mystics over the weekend. That split kept the Storm in fourth place in the WNBA standings at the time. With Washington beating Las Vegas on Tuesday, the Storm need a win here to get back into that coveted fourth spot. To do that, they will need to continue to play stellar defense.
The Storm rank second in the WNBA in defensive rating this season. Here, they will need to use that defense to slow Minnesota down both on the perimeter and interior. The Lynx have become much more dangerous from the outside of late, thanks to the surge of Aerial Powers, but Seattle can only pay so much attention to her with Fowles lurking inside.
