Sparks vs Liberty Betting Pick
This game will be played at Barclays Center at 7:00 PM ET on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
On Wednesday night, the second night of a back to back series will take place between the LA Sparks and New York Liberty. New York crushed Los Angeles in the first leg of this series on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Sparks will look for revenge with both teams trying to end the day in the top-eight in the standings. In our WNBA picks, we look at Wednesday’s Sparks vs Liberty matchup from Barclays Center.
Why Bet The Liberty:
✅ All of a sudden, the New York Liberty are hitting their stride at home. They have won three of their last four games, beating the Sky, Mercury, and Sparks at Barclays Center. New York outscored the Sparks by 27 points from three-point range on Tuesday, and their advantage from long range will help them collect a second straight win over the Sparks.
✅ Without Liz Cambage, the Sparks had no chance of rebounding the basketball against the Liberty. New York outrebounded Los Angeles 39-26 on Tuesday. No Spark had more than six rebounds in that game. Without a truly reliable paint presence, the Sparks will continue to be brutalized on the boards by the Liberty.

✅ Los Angeles could be without Chiney Ogwumike for this game. She left Tuesday’s game with an apparent facial injury. Without her, the Sparks will be even thinner up front and will have an even harder time rebounding the basketball.
Los Angeles Sparks
Tuesday was a complete disaster for the Los Angeles Sparks. They were beaten by 29 points by the Liberty, making just two three-point shots in the losing effort. Los Angeles was inferior in just about every facet of the game, and will need to be much better if they want any chance of avenging last night’s loss to split this two-game set with New York.
The Sparks need more out of Nneka Ogwumike if they are going to have a chance to beat the Liberty. Ogwumike shot 5/14 from the field on Tuesday, scoring just 15 points in the blowout loss. Against a Liberty team with a lot of size, Ogwumike may need to spread the floor and shoot more than the three long distance shots she took on Tuesday to give her team a chance.
New York Liberty
The New York Liberty won their second straight game at home on Tuesday, beating the LA Sparks convincingly. Sabrina Ionescu was the star of the show for New York, scoring 31 points to lead all scorers. Here, the Liberty will look to continue to press their advantage from three-point range against a Sparks team that does not shoot the ball very well.
New York made 42.6% of their threes on Tuesday against the Sparks, despite sharpshooter Marine Johannes going just 1/6 from beyond the arc. A similar shooting performance on Wednesday could help the Liberty put some room between themselves and one of the many teams looking to take a top-eight spot away from them.
