Sky vs Sun Game 3 Betting Pick
This game will be played at Mohegan Arena at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
The Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky split the first two games of their WNBA semifinal series over the last week. Now, they play a pivotal Game 3 in Connecticut, with the winner set to have a huge advantage over their adversary heading into the home stretch of the series. In our WNBA picks for Sunday afternoon, we glance at Sky vs Sun Game 3 in a game that is going to be huge for the outcome of this series and the WNBA playoffs as a whole.
Why Bet The Sun:
✅ Several key contributors struggled for the Sun in Game 2 of this series, allowing Chicago to even this series at a game apiece. Dewanna Bonner scored just two points in an uncharacteristically bad game, while Courtney Williams made just three of her 10 field goal attempts. Expect more from both of those Sun starters en route to an important victory here.
✅ On the flip side, Allie Quigley of the Sky had a much more productive game than usual from the outside. She made three of her six three-point shot attempts in Game 2, after failing to make a single one in Game 1. She will fall somewhere in the middle of 0% and 50% in this game, which will help the Sun have a better defensive showing at home.

✅ Even with the Sky beating the Sun in Game 2, the Sun outrebounded the Sky by 10 in that game. Connecticut has a consistent advantage on the glass in this series, which is going to be great for them now that they are back on their home floor in this massive contest.
Chicago Sky
The Chicago Sky lost the first game of their series against the Connecticut Sun, dropping their second straight series opener in this postseason. But they roared back in Game 2 against the Sun, just like they did against the New York Liberty in the first round of the playoffs. Now, the Sky will look for a road win in Game 3, just like they got against the Liberty in round one, to take a 2-1 lead in this semifinal series.
For the Sky, the efficiency of their starting lineup was so much better in Game 2 than it was in Game 1. Allie Quigley and Emma Meesseman made a much larger impact in the second game of this series than they did in the opener. If they can continue to knock down shots and force the Sun to avoid helping onto Candace Parker and Kahleah Copper, the Sky could easily win this game and this series.
Connecticut Sun
The Connecticut Sun could not capitalize on their Game 1 victory over the Chicago Sky in this series. They were beaten convincingly in Game 2, evening things at a game apiece heading to Connecticut. But the Sun will have to feel good about earning a split on the road to start this series, especially after going 0-4 against Chicago during the regular season.
In this game, the duo of Bonner and Williams has to be better for the Sun to retake the lead in this series. They combined to score eight points on 16 shots in Game 2, in a performance that was bizarre relative to their normal high standard. They will both be key in helping take some of the offensive responsibility off of Jonquel Jones, as the Sun look to avoid being pushed to the brink of elimination in front of a passionate crowd in Connecticut.
