Dream vs Lynx Betting Pick
This game will be played at Target Center at 7:00 PM ET on Sunday, August 7, 2022.
On Sunday, the Atlanta Dream and Minnesota Lynx will take part in a huge game in the WNBA playoff race. Both of these teams are in the top-10 in the league standings, but the winner of this game would really help their chances of finishing in the top-eight. In our WNBA picks for Sunday night, we look at the late Dream vs Lynx matchup to close out the night.
Why Bet The Lynx:
✅ The Lynx have been the better team of late, winning a couple of important road games against the Sparks and Dream before falling to the Seattle Storm. This game is Minnesota’s first game back home after a three-game road trip. Expect the Lynx to look sharper than they did in their last outing now that they are back on their home floor.
✅ Atlanta is just 6-9 away from home this season, and has lost each of their last two road games. They are 1-1 against the Lynx so far this season, but those games were both played in Atlanta. In their first road game against the Lynx this season, expect Minnesota to have the upper hand in this game with major playoff implications.

✅ Atlanta is banged up at the moment, with Monique Billings and Tiffany Hayes on the injury report. AD Durr and Nia Coffey are both out for the season as well. While the Lynx have been without Damiris Dantas and Napheesa Collier, the Lynx are in much better shape from a health perspective than their opponents in this contest.

Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream held on to beat the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday night, though it was not easy. They led by double figures at multiple points in the game, but nearly blew the game down the stretch. Fortunately for the Dream a late buzzer beater attempt by Nneka Ogwumike went in for the Sparks, but came just after the buzzer to allow the Dream to escape with a huge win.
In this game, the question for the Dream is whether they have any answer for Sylvia Fowles on the interior. Atlanta has a lot of grit around the boards, but they lack someone with the sheer size and strength of Fowles, which could be a problem here.
Minnesota Lynx
The Minnesota Lynx were blown out in their last game against the Seattle Storm. They fell behind big early and never got close, as the Storm simply put on a clinic on both ends of the floor. Here, the Lynx will look to be the team to get off to a fast start, just like they did against the Dream in the first half of their game a week and a half ago.
For the Lynx, defending Rhyne Howard is going to be the top priority of this contest. Howard was an inefficient 7/20 from the field the last time these teams played. If the Lynx can force her into a lot of shots to get her scoring done, Minnesota could cruise to another key victory over Atlanta.
