Key Storylines
Recent form
Vegas enters this contest on a three-game losing streak, a rare stretch of poor form for the Golden Knights. Normally, the Golden Knights would be confident being back at home in a spot like this one. But the Knights have been struggling and they will try to turn things around here. For Montreal, the last ten games have seen them go 3-4-3. They have won two games in a row, though, beating the Utah Mammoth and Toronto Maple Leafs over their last two games.
Goaltending
Sam Montembeault and Akira Schmid will feature in net for their respective teams in this game. Montembeault’s numbers are not the best on the Canadiens this season in net. But he should still get the nod over Jakub Dobes in this matchup. Schmid of the Golden Knights has seen way more action than expected this year in the absence of Adin Hill and Schmid has been solid with a 2.47 GAA.
Key skaters
Jack Eichel remains the offensive engine for Vegas with 11 goals and 20 assists this season. He’s been so dangerous with the puck, thanks to his ability to both score and facilitate. Montreal is led by the duo of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caulfield. Suzuki has 19 assists so far this season and his ability to distribute the puck is incredibly valuable for the Habs.

Final Thoughts
My best bet for this contest is for it to go over the total in Vegas. Montreal has been steadily racking up overs so far this season. I expect that to continue here in a game where Vegas should come out sharp as they aim to end their recent losing streak.
