Monday night’s NHL betting prediction comes from the Pacific Division clash between the surprising second place Los Angeles Kings and the suddenly struggling Calgary Flames. An early season divisional tilt that has high stakes for the Flames, who need to gain back ground after finally snapping a seven game losing streak that tumbled them down the standings.
Calgary hosts the Kings as -165 moneyline favorites and +155 odds on the -1.5 puck line. Los Angeles is priced at +145 on the moneyline and the total for this Kings vs Flames game is listed at 6.0 goals even.
Kings vs Flames Betting Pick
This game will be played at the Scotiabank Saddledome at 8:30 PM ET on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Why Bet The Flames:
✅ The Kings are on a four game win streak. However, three of those games came against teams with losing records.
✅ The Kings struggle against divisional rivals, going 0-4 in their last four games against the Pacific Division.
✅ The Flames are due for some puck luck to finally break their way. Calgary is Top 5 in shots per game and shots conceded per game as they have outplayed their opponents in a lot of their losses.

Los Angeles Kings
The Kings are one of the success stories in the league so far. Surprising many by repeating their unexpected success from the 2021/22, when the Kings won 44 games out of nowhere and finished third in the Pacific Division. After four straight wins, they head to Calgary looking to gain ground on the first place Vegas Golden Knights by extending their win streak.
LA might be winning games but they have hardly dominated their opponents. The Kings have a negative goal differential, conceding 57 goals and scoring 56 on the year.
The Kings beat up on bottom feeders last week, taking care of business against the struggling Minnesota Wild and the lowly Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings. Playing the Flames is a significant jump up in strength of schedule the Kings will need to answer if they want to avoid seeing their win streak come to an end.
Calgary Flames
The Flames took their first step to climbing out of the hole they built in a seven game losing streak on Saturday with a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Elias Lindholm and Adam Ružička led the way to a massive early season win with both players contributing a goal and an assist.
Calgary’s losing record is a bit of a surprise given they have looked fairly good through 14 games. The Flames average 36.4 shots per game, third in the league but score just 2.9 games a league to rank 21st. If the Flames continue to put pucks on next at their current clip, the goals have to eventually come.
The Flames have a similar issue on the other end of the ice contributing to their struggles. Conceding the 19th most goals in the league (3.2) despite allowing the fifth fewest amount of shots (27.8). Goaltenders Jacob Markstrom and Dan Vladar both need to drag their save percentages up from the .890 range into the .900s if the Flames want to start winning games as finishing chances and getting better goaltending play appears to be the two things the team needs to fix to start a win streak.
