Blue Jackets vs Avalanche Betting Pick
This game will be played at Nokia Arena in Finland at 2:00 PM ET on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Why Bet The Avalanche:
✅ Colorado has struggled but the Jackets have been even worse this season. Columbus are 3-7, losing their last three.
✅ Columbus has one of the worst defensive units in hockey, allowing over four goals per game.

✅ Despite the losing, the Avs are still finding the back of the net. Scoring four in their most recent outing in a 5-4 loss to the New York Islanders before heading on the plane to Finland.
Columbus Blue Jackets
Columbus simply have lacked the depth to compete this season, getting minimal scoring support from their bottom six forwards. Off-season addition Johnny Guadreau has five goals in eight games but needs help from the likes of Boone Jenner and company on the other forward lines.
Elvis Merzlikins is having a rough season in the net with a .864 save percentage and a 4.75 goals, not good enough between the pipes and a huge factor in the Blue Jackets struggles thus far.
Elvis’ below average efforts in net have led to a frightening 4.40 goals allowed per game for the Blue Jackets. Things aren’t getting better either as the Jackets allowed 17 goals in their last three games. Putting forward better defensive efforts will be a big focus for the team in Finland.
Columbus were blown out of the building by the New Jersey Devils in their last game before heading over to Finland. The Devils scored seven in a 7-1 blowout that likely made for a quiet overseas plane ride for the Jackets.

Colorado Avalanche
The wins haven’t come just yet for the Avs but the team is still scoring goals. Led by Nathan MacKinnon and some blueline offense from Cale Makar and Bowen Byram, the Avs are averaging just over three goals per game.
Keeping pucks out of the net has been the Avs biggest problem this season. Colorado are leaking three goals per game and conceded five in their most recent game against the Isles.
Allowing too many shots has been the reason for the Avs high number of goals allowed. Goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has a .914 save percentage but has already faced 208 shots in six games played.
Bowen Byram and Erik Johnson have done their job to try to limit the scoring chances. The two blueliners have combined for 24 blocked shots on the year.
