Hurricanes vs Panthers Betting Pick
This game will be played at FLA Live Arena at 7:00 PM ET on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Why Bet The Hurricanes:
✅ Carolina will be fired up for this one. The Hurricanes lost all three games against the Panthers last season and will be motivated to earn revenge in their first meeting of 22-23.
✅ Panthers leading scorer Matthew Tkachuk will not play due to a suspension for a high stick that earned him a two game ban.
✅ Florida’s goaltending situation has been shaky so far this season, ranking 18th in goals against.

Carolina Hurricanes
Carolina’s offense has been humming of late. The Hurricanes have scored three or more goals in seven of their last nine games played. Unfortunately for the Canes, one of those low scoring games was in their last outing as a one goal night was the lead cause of a 3-1 defeat against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Martin Necas has led the way for the Canes this season and is enjoying the start of what looks to be a career year in the making for the former 12th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. Necas has seven goals and 17 points in 12 games this season, nearly half of his production from 78 games last campaign. Andrei Svechnikov is also contributing as expected, leading the team with eight goals scored.
Carolina’s back end has been just as solid as the goalscorers in front of them, ranking second in the league in shots against per game. The presence of veteran blueliner Brent Burns has been crucial to the success of the defense as the former San Jose Sharks defenseman has been providing steady blueline play while also contributing offensively with a point in eight of the Canes’ last ten.
Antti Raanta is expected to get the start for the Canes tonight and is undefeated in regulation this season, holding a 3-0-1 record in four starts.
Florida Panthers
Without Matthew Tkachuk in the lineup, the Panthers will turn to Carter Verhaeghe to lead the way when they host the Canes. Verhaeghe is the next man up for the Panthers in terms of providing star level production, sitting on thirteen points on the season. The forward has also been on a heater of late for goalscorer prop bettors, putting it in the back of the net in three straight games.
Florida’s defense has been putting in good work but has been let down by shaky goaltending. Despite ranking eighth in shots conceded per game as a team, the Panthers are conceding the 18th most goals in the league as Spencer Knight and Serei Bobrovsky haven’t found their form in between the pipes just yet.
Bobrovsky will get the night off on Wednesday as it has been confirmed that Spencer Knight will get the start against Carolina. Knight has outplayed the veteran Bobrovsky so far this season, holding a 4-1 record and superior numbers compared to Bobrovsky’s 3-4-1 record and concerning .897 save percentage.
