Boston Bruins
The Bruins have made hockey bettors who have chosen to back them this season a lot of money, scoring a ton of goals along the way. Boston leads the league in goals per game.
Boston dominated the New York Rangers on Thursday night for their seventh straight win. The Bruins scored five goals and held the Rangers to just 20 shots in a 5-2 win.
Brad Marchand is unlikely to play on Saturday night against the Leafs as the Bruins training staff continue to ease him into a return from double hip surgery. Marchand played 18 minutes against the Rangers and has been playing in every other game since returning in late October. All signs pointing to Marchand not contributing in the Bruins trip to Toronto.

Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto got back to winning ways their last time on the ice, beating the Philadelphia Flyers in their first game back at Scotiabank Arena after a West Coast road trip. A three goal explosion in the third period gave the Leafs a 5-2 win.
Leafs captain John Tavares was phenomenal in the team’s win. Tavares scored a hat trick and added an assist in a four point night for the veteran. Star forward Auston Matthews also found his scoring touch in the return to Toronto, scoring two goals of his own.
The Leafs confirmed their goaltending plans for the weekend as the expectation is current number one Ilya Samsonov will start on Saturday night. Backup Erik Kallgren will start on Sunday when the Leafs visit Raleigh to face the Carolina Hurricanes.
Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has brought back veteran forward Wayne Simmonds in an attempt to give a boost to his bottom two lines. Simmonds wasn’t expected to contribute at the end of training camp but is getting a look after the Leafs role playing forwards failed to contribute much of a spark in the opening month of the season.
