Boston Bruins vs St. Louis Blues Game 4
Money Line: Boston+100/St. Louis-120
Puck Line: Boston-295/St. Louis+240
The Boston Bruins blew away the St. Louis Blues in Game 3 to take a 2-1 series lead. Boston tore apart the blues en route to a 7-2 victory that even got the Blues to pull goalie Jordan Binnington.
If you didn’t think that the Blue would miss Oskar Sundqvist in this one, you couldn’t have been more wrong. The Bruins scored on all four of their power play opportunities in Game 3. The Bruins scored their seven goals on just 24 shots on goal.
The Blues were the least penalized team after the first three rounds of the playoffs but gave the Bruins four power play chances in this one. The Blues have committed 14 minor penalties in three games this series. They averaged less than three per game entering the Stanley Cup Finals. Being without one of their top power play killers in Sundqvist, the Blues picked the worst game possible to commit that many penalties. Those four Bruins power plays only lasted a total of 2:06 and they scored all four of their goals on a total of four shots.
Tuukka Rask was solid in net for the Bruins yet again, making 27 saves on 29 shots. The Bruins got Binnington pulled from the game after he allowed five goals on just 19 shots. Jake Allen replaced Binnington in the net and the Bruins managed to get one by him as well on just four shot attempts.
If the Blues are going to tie this series up they are going to need to limit the penalties and continue to be physical with the Bruins. Losing this game will basically end this series. Winning three straight against a team that is playing as well as this Bruins team is right now, nearly impossible.
The Blues will continue their fight in this one but the Bruins are just too much right now. Rask is too difficult to score on and the Bruins offense is hot right now. This should be a great game throughout but I think the Bruins will pull away in the third period. The Bruins win Game 4 and take a commanding 3-1 lead that all but ends the Stanley Cup dream for the Blues.
