Why Bet The Seahawks:
✅ Despite their 7-2 start to the season, the Green Bay Packers haven’t exactly been blowing teams out this season. They have a point differential of just +19, which ranks just sixth in the NFC despite their record. Seattle’s point differential of +12 is right there with them despite having to start Geno Smith for the last three weeks.
✅ Speaking of Geno Smith, he may not have to start this game at quarterback for Seattle, as Russell Wilson has been cleared to come back from his thumb injury. Wilson isn’t certain to play just yet, but his return would jump start a Seattle offense that hasn’t been able to throw vertically the way that they are used to with Smith under center.

✅ Aaron Rodgers’ status isn’t certain for this week yet either. He should be able to return this week after missing last week due to a positive COVID-19 test. But the addition of Wilson to the Seahawks’ offense is going to be more impactful than the return of Rodgers to a Green Bay team that hasn’t been elite on the scoreboard even with him.
Seattle Seahawks
Last week, the Seattle Seahawks had a much needed bye, after they broke a three-game losing streak with a win against the Jaguars in Week 8. The bye week bought Seattle another week to get Russell Wilson healthy, and that time appears to have been enough to get him back into action. Wilson has been cleared for Week 10, and could make his return to the field against the Packers this weekend.
With Wilson, the entire offensive game plan changes for the Seahawks. They will be able to throw deep again, which unlocks the full potential of Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. Those two will be more effective with Wilson than they were with Geno Smith, which makes short and intermediate throws easier to pick up for a Seattle team that needs to get off to a strong start in the second half after a 3-5 start.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers lost a defensive struggle against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Jordan Love thrust into action to replace the COVID-afflicted Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay dropped a 13-7 game. While their defense deserves credit for holding Patrick Mahomes in check, the offense of the Packers was nowhere near good enough to threaten the Chiefs in that game.
This week, Rodgers is expected to return for the Packers at the quarterback position, though that will depend on his health. If he does come back, the Packers offense is expected to be far more potent against a Seattle defense that has been up and down this year. Rodgers is able to rejoin the Packers on Saturday at the earliest, and is on track to do so as long as he does not test positive for COVID again.
