Why Bet The 49ers vs Bears Under:
✅ The Chicago Bears are dead last in the NFL in yards per play gained, averaging just 4.4 yards per play. Their anemic offense has scored just 101 points this season, with only the New York Jets and Houston Texans putting fewer points on the board this season. That is a big help to any under, even when dealing with a sub-40 total.
✅ Both the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears are in the top half of the league in yards per play allowed. And with quarterbacks on both sides currently struggling, as we saw last Sunday night from Jimmy Garoppolo and all season from Justin Fields, the job of each defense in this game will be easier than usual.

✅ Games including the Chicago Bears this season are 6-1 to the under, as their offense just has not been able to put enough points on the board to push games over. Neither Andy Dalton or Justin Fields have been able to consistently put up points, which makes the under appealing.
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers won their first two games of this season, beating the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. But the Niners have lost their last four contests to drop to 2-4 on the season, with their most recent loss coming on Sunday Night Football last week against the Indianapolis Colts. In a game where pouring rain was wreaking havoc on both offenses, San Francisco couldn’t get things going as Jimmy Garoppolo committed several turnovers in the losing effort.
This week, the 49ers shouldn’t have to do as much offensively to beat the Bears as they would have last week to beat the Colts. But they are going to face an aggressive Bears defense on the road in this matchup, making the performance of Garoppolo anything but a given as the performance of San Francisco’s quarterbacks will continue to be scrutinized.
Chicago Bears
Chicago lost its second straight game to a Super Bowl contender last week, getting blown out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 38-3 loss. The Bears gave up four touchdown passes to Tom Brady, while Bears quarterback Justin Fields threw zero touchdowns and three interceptions. Growing pains were to be expected from Fields, and they are expected to continue against a competent Niners defense.
Defensively, the Bears have been adequate for most of the season, but are being put into difficult situations by the Chicago offense. Chicago’s inability to generate scoring drives on a regular basis forces the Bears defense onto the field more often than they would like. With the Bears sitting in the bottom-third of the NFL in average time of possession this season, defensive fatigue is certainly a possibility in each game they play.
