This NFC matchup features a pair of teams with bug question marks. The Saints have been remarkably inconsistent so far this season. Which version shows up? The quarterback play from Jameis Winston has been uneven, to say the least. Which version shows up? The Giants have been competitive despite an 0-3 start. They will try to get over the hump and get in the win column in New Orleans.
Saints vs Giants Betting Pick
This game will be played at 1PM EST on Sunday October 3rd, 2021 at the Superdome.
Why bet the Giants
✅ The Giants, despite the 0-3 start, are a team better than their record indicates. The defense will continue to have question marks, but they are facing an offense that will likely have a hard time beating them through the air. They are also facing an offense that is extremely slow paced and will try to limit the number of possessions for both teams. This bodes well for an underdog getting more than a touchdown. Also working in the Giants favor is simply the presence of Jameis WInston. Winston has been wildly inconsistent and truly got away with an interception ball last week. The play ended up being a touchdown, and one of the luckiest ones you will ever see. That was on the heels of a terrible, multiple turnover performance the week before. The Saints 2-1 record is simply despite WInston and not because of him. We will continue to attack this team as long as the oddsmakers overvalue them.
✅ The Giants offense has shown flashes this season, but has not brought consistency. There will be organic improvement as Saquon Barkley continues to near full health. He is a difference maker and is on the precipice of being that type of contributor once again. Quarterback Daniel Jones has also shown flashes. He has made impressive throws this season and continues to quietly be a dual threat. He can make plays running the ball and the offense as a whole should not have difficulty keeping something of a scoring pace with the Saints.
✅ The truth is, I believe the Saints to be the most fortunate team in the league through three weeks. They got a win against an unprepared and flat Packers team in Week 1. They went on to be destroyed by the Panthers in Week 2, and caught some very lucky breaks to be victorious in New England last week. Take the Giants to be competitive and fully use the cushy line to our advantage.
