This game will be played at Highmark Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
Why Bet The Bills:
✅ The Steelers have announced that they are going with Kenny Pickett as their starting quarterback going forward. That is a good move for the franchise long-term, as Mitch Trubisky was clearly not the answer. But it is terrible for them in this particular game, as a rookie quarterback is going to be making his first start against the number one defense in the NFL. Buffalo should take advantage with a blowout win here.

✅ To put some numbers behind the statement that the Bills have the top defense in the NFL, they have allowed 234.5 yards per game, which is tied with the 49ers for the top spot in the league. Buffalo is also second in the league in yards per play allowed. They should be able to prey on the inexperienced quarterback they are opposing in this contest.
✅ The Bills are not likely to take this game lightly after losing to the Steelers to open last season. Buffalo led that game 10-0 at halftime, but gave up 17 fourth quarter points to blow that contest. With the Bills looking to earn home field advantage in the playoffs this year, they come into this contest a little wiser and knowing that they need to remain sharp and win big to help their cause.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers finally brought Kenny Pickett into action against the New York Jets. The Steelers ended up losing the game, with Pickett throwing multiple interceptions. But there was finally a little bit of energy in Acrisure Stadium, after Steelers fans had been subjected to Mitch Trubisky for the first three and a half games of the season. This week, Pickett has a truly unenviable assignment as he faces an elite defense in Buffalo.
For Pittsburgh, keeping Pickett protected so he has time to attempt to make plays will be important. But moving the ball on the ground will also be huge for the Steelers. Doing so will give Pickett more manageable situations to work with, which will be essential if the Steelers want any chance to win this game in a difficult environment.
Buffalo Bills
Last week, the Buffalo Bills looked like they were dead in the water against the Baltimore Ravens, falling behind 20-3 in the first half. But the Bills scored the next 20 points of the game, including a 13-0 second half, to steal that contest in Baltimore. Entering Week 5, the Bills have shut out their opponents in three of the four second halves that they have played on the season.
This week, remaining focused is going to be the key for the Bills. Buffalo is expected to cruise in this Steelers vs Bills contest, as their defense is expected to swarm the rookie Pickett. But if they take this game lightly in any way, an upset could derail what has been a strong start to the season in Orchard Park.
