This game will be played at FirstEnergy Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Why Bet The Browns:
✅ The running game of the Browns is set to be the only offensive constant in this contest given the quarterback issues on both sides. Cleveland has averaged 192.4 rushing yards per game this season, despite everyone in the building knowing they are looking to run the ball each game. They should be able to keep moving the ball on the ground here en route to a win.

✅ New England was very impressive last week, shutting out the Detroit Lions, which has likely skewed perceptions on this matchup. But the Patriots are a different team on the road than they are at home, and not in a favorable way for this week. They are 1-2 away from home this year, with the one win coming against the Mitch Trubisky led Steelers. Here, the Patriots will fall again to a respectable team on the road.
✅ Cleveland leads the NFL in average time of possession, possessing the ball for an average of 34:31 per game. That time of possession will wear on the New England defense, as it does most opponents, and put the Browns in a position to clinch this game late.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots scored a shutout win over the Detroit Lions at home last week. They took advantage of the porous Detroit defense, while slowing down what had been a prolific Detroit offense in the process. This week, the Patriots will need to bring their best defense once again, as they get set to take on an elite rushing attack in Cleveland.
This will be the first road start for Bailey Zappe in his young career. He performed admirably in spot duty on the road against the Green Bay Packers in his first game action as a professional quarterback. But he will need to do more with less time on the ball in this game, as the Browns are known for dominating the time of possession battle.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are 2-3 on the season so far, and will feel like they should have won last week against the Los Angeles Chargers. A missed field goal in the dying moments of the game for the Browns cost them that contest, and dropped Cleveland below .500 for the year. Here, it will be the running game of the Browns that once again determines how their afternoon goes.
Cleveland must also be better defensively than they were a week ago against the Chargers. While going from defending Justin Herbert to defending Bailey Zappe should help the Browns defense, their run defense allowed Austin Ekeler to go off for 173 rushing yards last week. The Patriots are capable of moving the ball on the ground too, and Cleveland has to be better at stopping the run on early downs here.
