Dolphins vs Chargers Betting Pick

This game will be played at SoFi Stadium at 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Why Bet The Dolphins:
✅ The Chargers have been a subpar team this season at home. They are 2-3 at SoFi Stadium, as the lack of crowd support for the Los Angeles teams has been a legitimate issue for them. That will continue to be the case here against the Dolphins.
✅ The Chargers are also at a statistical disadvantage coming into this matchup. They have the third-worst scoring defense in the NFL this season, with only the Cardinals and Lions posting worse numbers in that area. They will struggle to get stops again here.
✅ The Dolphins are coming off of a road loss last week against the 49ers, but that was against arguably the best defense in the NFL. We should see the offense of the Dolphins get back on track in this matchup on the West coast.

Miami Dolphins
Last week, the Miami Dolphins‘ elite offense was shut down by the San Francisco 49ers. Even though the Dolphins knocked Jimmy Garoppolo out of that game, they could not take advantage of Brock Purdy being on the field, as the Niners defense shut them down after a first play touchdown strike from Tua Tagovailoa. This week, the Dolphins face a much more vulnerable Chargers defense.
There is a question about Jaylen Waddle’s health coming into this game, which could be significant for the Dolphins. Last week, Miami went to Trent Sherfield more often with Waddle at less than 100%. While that may not be the end of the world against the porous Chargers defense, it could be a factor late in games when opposing defenses are keyed in on taking away Tyreek Hill.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers lost to the Las Vegas Raiders as a slight favorite last week, in a disappointing effort from the second place team in the AFC West. The Chargers were torched by Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs, and they could not do enough offensively down the stretch to make up for that. Here, the Chargers will hope to beat a road weary Dolphins team to get back above .500 on the season.
While the Los Angeles defense has been understandably criticized this season, Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense has been far from perfect in their own right. The Chargers rank 14th in the league in scoring offense this season. If the Chargers offense cannot carry it through games like this one, Herbert and the offense may not be able to escape criticism for much longer.
