Head to Head
Teams Last 10
This game will be played at Ford Field at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
Why Bet The Dolphins:
✅ Detroit’s defense is simply not of a professional quality at this point in time. They have the league’s worst scoring defense, allowing 32.3 points per game to opponents. They also allow a league worst 6.4 yards per play. Against a Dolphins team that averages 6.1 yards per play of their own, Detroit will not be able to get enough stops to cover the number.

✅ Injuries have negatively impacted the offense of the Lions to an extreme degree. D’Andre Swift has been missing games lately, while Amon-Ra St. Brown left the team’s Week 7 game against the Cowboys with an injury as well. Missing some of their key weapons, the Lions have scored just six points in their last two games, and will continue to struggle offensively here.
✅ The Lions started this season at 3-0 against the spread, covering the number against the Eagles, Commanders, and Vikings. Since then, they have gone 0-3 against the spread, failing to cover against the Seahawks, Patriots, and Cowboys. This is a team clearly trending downward and betting them at this stage would be tough to justify.
Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins got an encouraging win in Week 7, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Miami’s offense was far from stellar in Tua Tagovailoa’s return to the field, but their defense did enough to carry them through. Entering this week at 4-3, the Dolphins need to keep winning to keep up in a division where every team is off to a strong start.
This week represents a great opportunity for the Dolphins offense to get back on track after a rough few weeks. Tagovailoa’s first week back was full of ups and downs, while the team struggled to move the ball with a combination of Teddy Bridgewater and Skylar Thompson in his absence. Against the worst defense in all of football, look for the Dolphins to right the ship offensively in Detroit.
Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions could not solve the Dallas Cowboys defense in Week 7, bowing out meekly in a 24-6 loss at AT&T Stadium. Detroit turned the ball over five times in Dallas, never giving themselves a chance to get their first road win of the season. Here, the Lions return home, where they have to be more careful with the football to give themselves an opportunity to beat Miami.
Yet again, the question for the Lions coming into this game is going to be whether or not their defense can do enough to give the team a chance to win this game. Detroit has allowed 162.8 rushing yards per game to opponents so far this season, with only the Bears and Texans performing worse in that category. While the Dolphins are far from a run-first offensive team, they have weapons like Raheem Mostert that can certainly cause the Lions problems.
