Raiders vs Chiefs Player Prop Pick: Darren Waller Over 68.5 Receiving Yards
✅ The Chiefs offense has been the story and rightfully so. Their sudden ineptitude in the passing game is something we have not seen from them in years. The last three games have been slow and boring clunkers. The Chiefs were able to win two of those games, and have quietly won three of four. There has been something of a common denominator in the last three games, that worked in their favor. None of their opponents featured the tight end position in the passing game.
✅ In the Chiefs first six games, they faced opponents that had no issues throwing the ball to the tight end. The Chiefs really had no answer for that. Check out the tight end production allowed in that span:
- Njoku/Hooper – 6/103/0 on 8 targets
- Andrews – 5/57/0 on 5 targets
- Cook/Parham – 3/46/1 on 4 targets
- Ertz/Goedert – 11/116/1 on 13 targets
- Knox – 3/117/1 on 4 targets
- Seals-Jones – 4/58/1 on 6 targets
That list contains a mixture of levels of ability, but there are some constants as well. Any time real volume went to tight ends, the gross output was high end. Additionally, there was an extremely high level of efficiency no matter volume or player ability.
Waller Time
✅ Darren Waller did not enjoy the same volume from last season while Jon Gruden was still in place. He did not see more than eight targets in any game before the ousting of Gruden. There was then a bye week and a game missed due to injury for Waller. Last week was the first game Waller played under new coach Rich Bisaccia, and the volume instantly returned. Waller caught 7 of 11 targets and turned them to a 7/92/0 line. I fully expect that volume to remain a constant once again. Even if the volume does not remain, Waller can easily go well over this prop line on fewer opportunities.
