Week 7 of the NFL season gets underway Thursday night with an AFC West rivalry game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. These two teams are going in opposite directs as the Kansas City Chiefs have lost two games in a row to fall to 4-2 and the Denver Broncos have won two in a row to improve their record to 2-4.
Below are my two best bets for Thursday night football. All lines are from FanDuel Sportsbook
Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5) at Denver Broncos: O/U 49 points (+100/-120)
The Kansas City Chiefs started their 2019 season a high note starting 4-0 and scoring 28+ points in each game, however, the Chiefs have now lost two games in a row and have not scored above 24 points in either game. The Chiefs looked beatable for the first time in a crazy 34-30 win over the Detroit Lions in week 4 and have not been the same since. A hobbled Patrick Mahomes has struggled to help out a defense that has not been able to get anyone off the field this season. KC is 3-3 ATS this season, having lost three in a row, and the over has hit in four of six games.
The Denver Broncos finally got a win under their belt two weeks ago, with a 30-13 win at the Los Angeles Chargers, and then followed that win up with a 16-0 shutout over the Tennessee Titans. The Broncos very easily could be 4-2 rather than 2-4 as they have lost two games on last minute field goals. If Denver gets the win Thursday night it would see the Broncos sit just one game back in the AFC West. Denver is 3-3 ATS this season and the under has hit in four of six games.
Series History: The Chiefs lead the all-time series 63-55 and have won the last seven meetings between the two.
Game Prediction: I like the under to hit in this one.
Under 5.5 total touchdowns scored (-116)
4, 2, 5, 5, 3, 1. Those are the total touchdowns in every Broncos game this 2019 season. At home the total touchdowns has been 2, 5 and 1. The Vic Fangio defense seems to have traveled with him from Chicago to Denver and he has this Broncos defense playing real well even without Bradley Chubb. With Mahomes hobbled on a short week I think the Chiefs bleed a lot of clock and rely a little more on the running game which is a key to this prop hitting.
YTD NFL Results: 17-18
