Why Bet The Bengals:
✅ Neither of these offenses has been all that impressive, but the Bengals enter this Jaguars vs Bengals matchup with a huge advantage on defense. Cincinnati is allowing 1.6 yards per play less than the Jaguars so far this season. They should be able to control the Jaguars’ offense in this contest.
✅ Trevor Lawrence is clearly experiencing growing pains through the first three weeks of his professional career. He is tied with Zach Wilson for the most interceptions in the league with seven so far. No other quarterback in the NFL has more than four interceptions through three weeks of play.
✅ Primetime games have gone over the total in all but one game so far this year. And while the total for this contest isn’t a guarantee, the total going over would very much benefit the Bengals as they possess the more reliable offensive attack thus far.
Jacksonville Jaguars
It was expected that growing pains would be a part of the season for the Jacksonville Jaguars. But those growing pains have been greater than anticipated, as Trevor Lawrence and the young core of the Jaguars have had a hard time during their 0-3 start to this season. Now, the Jaguars are tasked with traveling on a short week to Cincinnati to take on the first-place Bengals.
If the Jaguars want to compete with the Bengals, they are going to need to do a better job of keeping the ball in their possession. Trevor Lawrence has thrown seven interceptions so far this year, with the Jaguars turning the ball over nine times as a whole. Their -8 turnover differential is the worst in the NFL through three weeks, and another poor performance from a turnover perspective could be a kiss of death for the Jags.

Cincinnati Bengals
So far this season, the Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the pleasant surprises of the 2021 campaign. They have won two of their first three games, beating postseason contenders in the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers in the early going. And while Trevor Lawrence has struggled for the Jaguars through three weeks, Joe Burrow has looked like the answer for the Bengals.
Burrow has completed just over 70% of his passes through the first three weeks of the season. His connections on deep balls with Ja’Marr Chase have changed the way the Bengals offense is defended, as teams are forced to respect the vertical passing game. And with Joe Mixon producing early in the season as well, the Bengals look like they could be a surprise team with staying power in the AFC standings.
