This game will be played at MetLife Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
Why Bet the Jets:
✅ The Lions have been playing better football of late, winning three of their last four contests. But two of those three wins came at home, while the Lions have a losing record on the road. That will help the Jets pick up a win here.
✅ The Jets should have Mike White back at quarterback for this game, as coach Robert Saleh has said he is hopeful White will be good to go. The Jets offense has been a lot better with White at quarterback than it has been with Zach Wilson or Joe Flacco, and that will continue this week.
✅ If you look at the Jets’ losses this season, they have all come against playoff caliber teams. The Lions are not quite at that level yet, and the Jets will continue to beat the teams they are supposed to beat here at home.

Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions got a great win in Week 14, beating the Minnesota Vikings at home to move to within one game of the .500 mark on the season. Detroit’s offense has looked excellent lately, with the returns of D’Andre Swift and Amon-Ra St. Brown helping Jared Goff immensely. But the Lions head outdoors into the cold New Jersey weather this week, which could help slow them down.
Also concerning for the Lions coming into this week is their defense. While the Lions have been better on defense than they had been earlier in the season, the Lions are still ranked 31st in the NFL in points allowed. Against a Jets team that is improving offensively, this road game will be a fascinating test for the Lions defensively.
New York Jets
Last week, the New York Jets fell short against the Buffalo Bills. They could not get their offense in gear, scoring just 12 points in a disappointing result against the leader of their division. Here, the Jets will hope for a bigger offensive output against a Lions team that has had its share of struggles on the defensive side of the ball.
The quarterback position is key in every football game, but it is especially important in this game as the Jets are dealing with a quarterback injury situation. Joe Flacco saw the field late last week against the Bills, as Mike White went down with an injury. If White can return this week, the Jets could look very different on the offensive side of the ball.
