This game will be played at 4:00 PM ET at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
Why Bet The Lions:
✅ The Lions have been terrible this year, but they have turned a corner by their standards over the last four games they’ve played. They are 1-2-1 during that time period, with a point differential of -3 over that time frame. While they aren’t likely to win many more games this season, they have proven that they shouldn’t be such sizable underdogs either.
✅ Denver, meanwhile, has proven to be fool’s gold after their 3-0 start to the season. They have picked up a couple of nice wins over the Cowboys and Chargers since then, but have really struggled to get things going offensively on a regular basis. Against a Lions team that has been decent on defense of late, the Broncos may not be able to create all that much separation.

✅ While the Detroit Lions have just one win this season, they have been great at covering the spread this season. Detroit is 8-4 against the number during the 2021 season, and are clearly showing some fight despite lacking in talent. They should do a good job of covering a big number again here, as the Broncos have covered in just three of their last nine games.
Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions finally got into the win column a week ago, beating the Minnesota Vikings to move to 1-10-1 on the year. The Lions played one of their best offensive games of the season, breaking 20 points for just the second time all season to avoid a winless season. Now, the Lions will look to score a second straight win and keep building momentum under Dan Campbell.
For the Lions, the question for this game will be whether or not Jared Goff can sustain the level of play that he showed against Minnesota. The answer to that question is likely no, but if he can take advantage of the Broncos’ lack of consistency, Detroit could sneak out of Mile High with another win.
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos lost on Sunday Night Football to the Kansas City Chiefs in their last game, scoring just nine points in a 22-9 defeat. The defense of the Chiefs scored six points in that game, compared to nine points for the Broncos’ offense. If the Broncos want to avoid a humiliating defeat to the Lions, they will need more production from their offense.
Fortunately, the Broncos found something good on offense in the form of Javonte Williams, who handled a full workload at running back with aplomb. Williams was dangerous both rushing and receiving, without Melvin Gordon to get in his way for the first time all season. If Denver can get him more involved in their offense consistently, they could be onto something good.
