Cowboys vs Falcons
Both teams are coming off of surprising outcomes last week. The Falcons pulled off an upset in New Orleans. Well, as much of an upset as an outcome can be against a team starting Trevor Siemian at quarterback. The bigger surprise was the flat and lifeless showing from the Cowboys offense. A pair of early failures on fourth down took the wind from their sails and they never recovered.

Why Bet The Cowboys
✅ Do not fall victim to recency bias! The Cowboys offense had a true face plant last week. They came out flat, failed on a couple of fourth downs and stayed flat. These things happen in the NFL and are simply not quantifiable. The good news is they rarely spill over to multiple weeks, and have a much softer matchup this week. The matchup with the Broncos was equally exploitable, yet different. The Broncos are a team that has relied on defense to keep them in games. Denver could at least hope to hold the Cowboys down. The same does not hold true for the Falcons.
✅ The Falcons defense is third worst in the league in scoring defense. They have allowed over 28 points per game in what amounts to a very soft schedule to date. The Falcons do not have a redeeming portion of the defense that might be able to be a game changer for them. They are bottom 10 against the run against a soft schedule. That fact certainly does not bode well for a matchup with the Cowboys. The Cowboys dominant offensive line and Ezekiel Elliott will have an easy time with that matchup. The Falcons back end has only been tested by a high end quarterback one time this season. That was Tom Brady in a five touchdown performance. Dak Prescott should do quite similar.

✅ The Falcons offense has had limitations all season. Firstly, they are without Calvin Ridley and we will see the offensive limitations exploited. The resulting effect is Cordarelle Patterson being the Falcons go to offensive player. However, he can only take them so far. In the backfield, Mike Davis simply does not get the job done. The result is the converted wide receiver in Patterson is touching the ball often. Additionally, Kyle Pitts is not getting it done when covered by linebackers and cornerbacks. Pitts has only had strong results when covered by safeties. The Falcons will need someone else to step up if they are to be competitive with higher end teams in this game, and down the stretch.
