Bengals vs Chiefs Betting Pick
This game will be played at Arrowhead Stadium at 3:00 PM ET on Sunday, January 30, 2022.
Why Bet The Bengals vs Chiefs Under:
✅ The over has been bet up since the opening line came out for this game, which started at 51 points. Bettors are inclined to take the over based on the upside of these offenses and the fact that they played a high-scoring game earlier in the season. As a result, the under is the better play as buying back on a high total should turn out to be a profitable decision.
✅ Cincinnati should be responsible for this game staying under the total. They gave up nine sacks against the Titans in the Divisional round, and only scored 19 points in Tennessee. In this game, their woeful offensive line will keep their scoring down again, which will keep the Chiefs from needing to score into the 40s in order to win like they had to against Buffalo.

✅ It is worth remembering that had the Bills not converted on a fourth and 13 with two minutes to go against the Chiefs, Kansas City would have been able to run the clock out in their Divisional game. The total had yet to reach 50 at that point, and it took a defender falling down and leaving Gabriel Davis wide open to allow that contest to be as high-scoring as it was. Barring similar flukes in this game, the total should stay under.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals took advantage of several Ryan Tannehill interceptions to upset the Titans in the Divisional round. Four Evan McPherson field goals along with one touchdown were enough to pick up a 19-16 win, with McPherson kicking the game winner as time expired. This week, the Bengals may not be able to rely on turnovers the way they did against the Titans, as Patrick Mahomes is operating at a high level for the Chiefs.
If the Bengals want to win this game, they are going to need to do a better job of protecting Joe Burrow. Cincinnati gave up nine sacks last time out against the Titans, which would have cost them the game had the Titans not turned the ball over with so much regularity. The Chiefs are much harder to keep up with on the scoreboard, and the Bengals will need to clean things up to avoid getting blown out.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs won one of the best games in the history of the NFL Playoffs last week, beating the Buffalo Bills 42-36 in overtime. The final two minutes of regulation saw three touchdowns and a field goal, including a game-tying field goal drive by the Chiefs that was completed in just 13 seconds. This week, the Chiefs will aim for a less dramatic victory, as they are expected to maintain more distance between themselves and the Bengals.
With that said, the Chiefs need to clean things up on defense if they are going to earn a third straight AFC championship. It will be easier to get to the quarterback against the Bengals, but the Chiefs have already shown that they struggle to cover Ja’Marr Chase in the regular season. The Chiefs will hope to have Tyrann Mathieu back for this game, but their defense hasn’t consistently shown that Mathieu’s presence will be enough to get stops consistently.
